DHA Platforms: Reach and Funding

Coordinating digital health activities globally

### Introduction The Digital Health Atlas (DHA) is an open-source web platform designed to support governments, technologists, implementers and donors to better coordinate digital health activities globally. The web platform is a WHO global technology registry used to document all the digital health platforms being used by different global projects. ### Top platforms DHIS2 is the top reported platform in the DHA. Of the 740 projects, roughly a third of all projects (230) report either using DHIS2 or DHIS2 Tracker followed by CommCare with 46 projects. OpenMRS, RapidPro, OpenLMIS, Community Health Toolkit, ODK and OpenSRP are some of the other more referenced platforms in DHA.### Strong DHIS2 Adoption in Asia with more platform diversity in Africa First, it's important to note that 78% of projects in DHA are either in Asia or Africa. This is likely due to underreporting of projects into the DHA for other regions. DHIS2 is widely adopted both in Africa and Asia while platforms like CommCare, OpenLMIS and ODK having nearly all of their reports projects only in Africa. This is probably a result of underreporting in Asia of other platforms. This also potentially implies a more decentralized approach to platform adoption in Africa where in Asia platform selection more MoH driven.### Who is funding what? DHIS2 received a lot of funding during Covid-19. Interesting DHIS2 is listed as a funder of it's own platform. In general, it appears that donors continue to fund a wide variety of platforms.## Discover more insights Take some time to better understand the platform data collected by using the filters below to get more specific insights. ## {country} ### Please find information on {platforms} here.text
